Masterclass Schedule
The day begins with a training session focused on the core principles of Stanislavsky's system and the Russian acting school: Here and Now. Participants will learn how to shift their attention from internal experiences to external elements such as the environment, their acting partner, and the audience. This foundational exercise emphasizes the importance of connection and ensures the actor will be existing in the present moment.
Part Two: Active Analysis
The second session introduces Active Analysis–a practical method for text analysis, designed for independent use, even without a director's guidance. Participants will learn how to efficiently transition from analyzing the text to rehearsing and collaborating with their partners. Actors will work with the classic plays of Anton Chekhov, such as The Seagull or The Cherry Orchard. These texts, rich with action and layered with possibilities, serve as ideal material for exploration and discovery. Each participant will have the opportunity to perform and receive personalized, in-depth feedback from Nikita.
The second day begins with a brief warm-up to re-energize participants and introduce additional tools to enhance their practice. The session then focuses on preparation and analysis of texts for the evening showcase, with time dedicated to partner work and collaborative exercises.
Part Two: Scene Study
In the final session, participants will engage in practical exercises using Chekhov’s texts, working closely with partners to bring the material to life. The day concludes with detailed feedback from Nikita, a Q&A session to address any questions, and group reflection to solidify the learning experience. This structured program ensures a comprehensive exploration of classical Russian theater techniques, equipping participants with tools to deepen their artistry and expand their creative potential.

— Do I need to confirm my professional experience?
•• Yes, our manager will contact you to inquire about your resume, education, or agency affiliations.
— Will there be a break?
•• Yes, there will be a two-hour break in the middle of the day for lunch and rehearsals.
— Can directors participate in the training?
•• Yes, directors are welcome to join the training. We do allow directors to observe, but they are more than welcome to participate in the class alongside the actors.
— Is it possible to attend only one day of the training or leave early?
•• Due to the comprehensive nature of the program and its reliance on partner work, we kindly ask that participants clear their schedules for the full duration of the masterclass.
— Can I participate in the training if I am not from the city where it’s held?
•• Of course! While we are unable to provide or recommend accommodations, we encourage anyone who is available to sign up.
— What language are the masterclasses conducted in? What level of language proficiency is required?
•• The masterclasses will be conducted in English. Nikita will speak in Russian, with simultaneous interpretation into English. We recommend that participants have a minimum of B2-level English proficiency.
— Do I need to prepare anything in advance for the sessions?
•• Yes, please reread the selected Chekhov text and wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement.
— Do I need to have read Chekhov?
•• Yes, we ask that you read the selected Chekhov text before the class. Our manager will provide details on the text after you sign up. If you have difficulty finding the text, we can send you a PDF copy.
